Terms of Service Privacy Policy Copyright & DMCA Policy Refund Policy Support
This Cookie Policy explains how ActiveBook (the website at activebook.ai and the ActiveBook apps, operated by Linus Publications, Inc.) uses cookies and similar technologies. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. The apps’ built-in reading views use the same mechanism through their embedded browser components. Related technologies such as local storage work similarly; we refer to all of them as “cookies” in this Policy.
2. Cookies we set
Every cookie we set is strictly necessary to sign you in, keep the Service secure, or deliver a feature you have asked for. We set no advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
*_session |
Keeps you signed in and preserves your session (for example your cart) as you move between pages. | About 2 hours |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Security token that protects forms against cross-site request forgery. | About 2 hours |
remember_web_* |
Set only when you tick “Remember me”, so you stay signed in between visits. | Long-lived |
oauth_app, oauth_nonce |
Short-lived tokens that securely complete social sign-in started from one of our apps. | 10 minutes |
app_attest |
Verification token confirming that requests come from a genuine ActiveBook app; used to protect purchased content. | While the app is in use |
The reader also uses browser local storage on your device for reading preferences and offline caching. This data stays on your device and is not a tracking technology.
3. Third parties
- Stripe — payment is completed on Stripe’s own hosted checkout pages, where Stripe sets cookies on its own domain for fraud prevention and to operate checkout. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
- fonts.bunny.net — our pages load fonts from this privacy-focused CDN. It receives your IP address in order to serve the font files and sets no cookies.
- Sign-in providers you choose (Google, Apple, Microsoft, LinkedIn) may set cookies on their own domains during sign-in, governed by their own policies.
4. What we don’t use
We use no analytics trackers, no advertising networks, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. Because we only set strictly necessary cookies, the Service does not show a cookie-consent banner — there is nothing optional to consent to. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and ask for your consent where required.
5. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. Because all of our cookies are essential, blocking them will prevent signing in and purchasing from working. Deleting cookies signs you out.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above shows the latest revision. Questions? Contact privacy@activebook.ai. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
